This cadmium bearing alloy is majorly used for the brazing of Silver goods which are made of Silver Alloys.

- 205 50 15 16 19 - 620-640 L-Ag50Cd AG 1 B Ag-1a BA Cu Ag 10
Due to its lowest melting point in available silver alloys, it provides excellent flow characteristics. It is a general purpose alloy which has highest joint strength & also provides resistance to corrosion in chlorine, sulphur & steam environments.

Its narrow melting range makes it suitable for rapid or slow methods of heating & also helps in flowing freely in narrow clearance joints.

It may be used in brazing operations, requiring a low temperature, quick & complete penetration & neat joints of high strength that needs little or no finishing. It may be used in brazing steel, copper, brass, gunmetal tin bronzes, aluminium, manganese bronzes, copper nickel alloys and nickel silver.

These brazing alloys are free flowing & are suitable for general purpose work requiring higher brazing temperature. Their melting ranges are helpful where joint clearances are not uniform. Unless proper care is taken these filler metals may tend to liquate.

Similar to ALFA-208 but is more economical. Provides lass strength to the joint.

Their wide melting range limit their application. Due to this they are more prone to liquation. It is not recommended for applications with slow heating rates. However, it has good fillet forming properties & has ability to bridge wider gaps..

Similar to ALFA-207A. It is used for brazing joints with very wide gaps.

Similar to ALFA-207A but is more economical.

Brazing Filler metal is suitable for pure dry atmosphere brazing & is of particular advantage when precipitation hardening & other stainless steels in 760C to 370C range. This alloy is usually used where the precipitation-hardening heat treatment is combined with the brazing operation.

Brazing Filler metal is used in brazing AISI/300 & 400 series stainless steels, as well as the precipitation-hardening nickel & steel alloys. It is particularly suited to protective atmosphere furnace brazing because of the absence of zinc & cadmium. The nickel content makes it immune to crevice corrosion, particularly on 400 series stainless steel by imparting a nickel rich layer along the fillet edge. It is used for brazing stainless steel vanes of gas turbine aircraft engines.

Brazing alloy is used for service temperature up to 371C. its low zinc content makes it suitable for furnace brazing.

Brazing filler metal is low melting, free flowing, cadmium free & suitable for use in joining low carbon 300 series stainless steels (particularly food handling equipment & hospital utensils) & small tungsten carbide inserts for cutting tools.

Brazing alloy is particularly suitable for brazing carbide tool tips to tool shanks as it wets the carbide tool tip very satisfactorily. It has a wide wetting range, therefore, the solid & liquid portions do not tend to separate excessively. It is good filler metal for bridging gap. It has good corrosion resistant properties & is particularly suitable for brazing stainless steels also.

Brazing filler metal is similar to ALFA-410, except that it contains no zinc, which is advantageous where volatilization is objectionable in furnace brazing.
