Due to its lowest melting point in available silver alloys, it provides excellent flow characteristics. It is a general purpose alloy which has highest joint strength & also provides resistance to corrosion in chlorine, sulphur & steam environments.

Its narrow melting range makes it suitable for rapid or slow methods of heating & also helps in flowing freely in narrow clearance joints.

Similar to ALFA-208 but is more economical. Provides lass strength to the joint.

Brazing Filler metal is used in brazing AISI/300 & 400 series stainless steels, as well as the precipitation-hardening nickel & steel alloys. It is particularly suited to protective atmosphere furnace brazing because of the absence of zinc & cadmium. The nickel content makes it immune to crevice corrosion, particularly on 400 series stainless steel by imparting a nickel rich layer along the fillet edge. It is used for brazing stainless steel vanes of gas turbine aircraft engines.

Brazing alloy is used for service temperature up to 371C. its low zinc content makes it suitable for furnace brazing.

Brazing alloy is particularly suitable for brazing carbide tool tips to tool shanks as it wets the carbide tool tip very satisfactorily. It has a wide wetting range, therefore, the solid & liquid portions do not tend to separate excessively. It is good filler metal for bridging gap. It has good corrosion resistant properties & is particularly suitable for brazing stainless steels also.
